The Importance of Studying Music Theory

Theory is an important part of a well-rounded music education.  It deepens our ability to understand the structure of music, and be able to appreciate music even more.  A clear understanding of how the piece is constructed helps us learn faster, just like having a street map enables us to drive more efficiently.

We incorporate music theory in our piano lessons from the very beginning.  We prepare our students for the ABRSM music theory grade 5 examinations, which is required for the ABRSM piano examination grade 6 and above.  AP music theory tutoring is also available.
